Description

Bogotá is located in the center of Colombia, in the natural region known as Bogota's Savannah, which is part of the Cundiboyacense plateau in the Eastern Cordillera of the Andes. It is the third highest capital in South America (after La Paz and Quito) to an average of 2,625 meters above sea level.  Bogotá is the largest city and the capital of Colombia: here you can find the convergence point of people from all over the country. This multicultural and heterogeneous city sees the coexistence of modern buildings with others that evoke its colonial past. Bogotá is a green city thanks to its parks and oriental hills dominating the Sanctuaries of Monserrate and Guadalupe; its color is also the one of the bricks with which many buildings are built, real colonial treasures. Few cities have such a rich landscape; your gaze is lost in a green sea, that of the Andes Cordillera. In Bogota, apart from enjoying the green spaces and the open air, the travelers find an ideal place to go for business, to discover the history, to have fun. And let's not forget that this city offers a great local gastronomy, culture and much more...

About 177 km from Bogota this tour takes us to discover the small and pretty colonial town Villa de Leyva, declared a national monument in 1954.

Program

Early in the morning you begin your journey to  Villa de Leyva, a charming place full of bohemian history and atmosphere. Located 177 km from Bogotá, despite being one of Colombia's oldest countries and having had great political importance in the past, today it seems frozen over time. During the tour we will visit Boyacà's historic bridge and many picturesque villages where you will appreciate the local crafts.
